Outside Activities - Consulting

A University employee may participate in outside activities with an entity other than the University, any UPMC entity, or the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System, provided they adhere to all applicable University policies. Learn more

Faculty Use of University Time for Outside Professional Activities

Full-time faculty are permitted to use up to one day per week on the average of their University time over the period of their contractual appointment at the University and any summer months during which they receive compensation for teaching, research, or other University activities on outside professional work. Licensed Start-up Companies

Licensed Start-up Companies (LSCs) are nonpublic companies that have an Option or License agreement for University of Pittsburgh technology and the University and/or one or more of its employees, students, members of their immediate families, or the University itself has taken an ownership interest in the company.
