Managed FCOI Disclosures

Pursuant to federal regulation, and in an effort to promote transparency, the University of Pittsburgh makes available to the public information on all managed Financial Conflicts of Interest (FCOIs) with research funded by the Public Health Service (PHS) disclosed by its investigators.

Criteria

In order to be considered a FCOI, the University has first determined that the interests are above a certain threshold related to a PHS-funded project, and that they could directly and significantly affect the design, conduct, or reporting of PHS-funded research. Reported FCOIs are posted within 60 days of receipt of new information, and annually for continuing conflicts, beginning with FCOI disclosures made from August 24, 2012 onwards. The information is current as of the date listed on the disclosure document.

Disclaimer

This posted information includes only interests of individual investigators; it does not reflect research grants or gifts to the University of Pittsburgh and reflects only those interests that meet the definition of a FCOI under the PHS regulations. Other public disclosures of outside interests, including disclosures by pharmaceutical or device companies, may have different information as a result of different reporting obligations and regulations that govern those disclosures.
